Here at Raintree, our vision is to improve the world through literacy. That's why we have been providing quality, reliable classroom and library resources internationally for over 20 years.
At the centre of everything we do is a fundamental passion for books and an understanding of the importance of reading. Our years of experience combined with the talents of authors, curriculum experts, editors and designers enable us to offer a huge variety of inspiring fiction and non-fiction books to encourage all children to develop a real love of reading and find out more about the fascinating world around them. From multicultural fairy tales to genetics, our diverse range of titles has something to get everyone reading!
History of Raintree
Heinemann Library was launched in the mid 1990's to provide the best non-fiction information books for libraries and classrooms. We worked closely with librarians and teachers ensuring our resources responded to our readers' curriculum needs and interests. Before long Heinemann Library established itself as the leading publisher for school libraries and expanded into digital resources, launching Heinemann Explore in 2001.
In 2004, Raintree was launched alongside Heinemann Library to cater for the needs of reluctant readers and those in need of additional support. Raintree's combination of high quality, appealing content for different reading levels quickly established it as a favourite with teachers and librarians.
In 2008, Heinemann Library and Raintree were purchased by Capstone Publishers, a market leading company producing school and library materials in the US.
In January 2010, the company rebranded as Raintree — incorporating Heinemann Library and Raintree under one banner.
Since then, Raintree has established a strong and trusted reputation with librarians and teachers with a clear identity by combining all our publishing under one respected imprint. We continue to publish for struggling or reluctant readers and recognise that every library and classroom provides for readers of all levels.
